The high temperature roasting of the tea leaves brings clear taste and strong aroma to this roasted tea “hojicha”. Using a sand roasting machine to roast the leaves enables to have the best results of roasting. The leaves are roasted until their center to obtain a strong aromatic tea.
The organic Japanese Agricultural Standard JAS logo represents the sun, clouds and plants. Only products that have cleared the JAS standards established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries can obtain the JAS organic logo that certifies the product is organic. Products coming from soil harvested for more than 3 years without pesticides or agricultural chemicals can apply to be organic. This tea has been elaborated from the tea garden to the end of the tea making, without being polluted by any pesticides and chemical substances. It is certified by the JAS standards.
